Sight is perhaps the most important sense for safety and self-preservation. However, with every passing year, the number of people suffering from vision problems is increasing drastically. Many people believe that aging is the main culprit. But the simple truth is that people with modern, sedentary lifestyles are more likely to develop problems like eye strain and blurred vision.
If you do not want to wear eyeglasses in the near future, make sure to follow these helpful exercises to improve your vision.
1. Blink your eyes more often.
It is only a matter of time before prolonged exposure to the TV screen and frequent use of a computer take a toll on your vision and lead to dry eyes, a common and often chronic problem that causes headaches, eye strain and blurry vision. If you feel a strain while doing these activities, start blinking to lubricate your eyes and it will reinvigorate your brain to efficiently process new visual information.
2. Use your palm to relax your vision.
This is a highly effective method to alleviate simple eye fatigue. All you need to do is cup your hands over the socket of your eyes to apply gentle pressure. Keep your eyes closed and focus on staring into the dark space for 30 seconds until you see all the residual tones fade to black. This will allow your eyes to relax and reset your vision.
3. Follow the 20-20-20 rule.
A popular eye exercise that proves to be greatly beneficial for your vision. Take a 20-second break every 20 minutes and focus on an item located at least 20 feet away from your position. This can help prevent serious eye strain and eye damage that will surely need the expertise of an eye doctor.
4. Trace an eight with your eyesight.
This exercise aims to increase the flexibility of your eye muscles. Visualize an enormous 8 around 10 feet away from your position and turn it on its side. Follow the mark with your eyesight for a few minutes. Make sure to switch up the clockwise and counterclockwise patterns.
